Chandigarh, May 14:
Punjab Transport Minister S. Laljit Singh Bhullar, on Sunday, inaugurated the Institute of Automotive & Driving Skills at Govt ITI Rupnagar, third such government institute in the state after Mahuana (Sri Muktsar Sahib) and Hoshiarpur.
The Transport Minister, while congratulating the people of the district, said that the state government has fulfilled the long-standing demand of the people of the region for the setting up of such driving skills centers. Now, the people of the region will not face any hardship in obtaining a driving license and training.
S. Laljit Singh Bhullar, who was accompanied by MLA Advocate Dinesh Chadha and Deputy Commissioner Dr. Preeti Yadav, said that earlier such centers at Sri Muktsar Sahib and Hoshiarpur were covering all districts, thus the people of far-flung areas were facing a lot of difficulties. Now, with the tireless efforts of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann led government, RTO system is being initiated in every district, which will make easy for people to get training. Our government is fulfilling its commitment to provide better facilities to the people of the state, he added.
While expressing gratitude towards the Cabinet Minister S. Laljit Singh Bhullar, MLA Advocate Dinesh Chadha said that this institute has great significance for the district as most of the transporters in Delhi and Himachal Pradesh belong to Rupnagar district, and they had to go to village Mahuana (district Sri Muktsar Sahib) or Hoshiarpur to get heavy driving license. Now opening of such third center in Rupnagar is a matter of great pride for us.
Deputy Commissioner Rupnagar Dr. Preeti Yadav said that registration can be done for 2 days training in this center, which was opened with the help of District Red Cross. And, detailed information will be made available online soon. There will be a total 30 slots in this training, of which 5 will be reserved for immediate needs.
