Punjab’s 2nd oxygen express on way to Bathinda from Hazira

CHANDIGARH, MAY 19:

Invigorating Liquid Medical Oxygen (LMO) supplies, Punjab’s second Oxygen Express to reach Bathinda on 19th May today evening with 30 Metric Tonnes (MT) from Hazira to further boost up the stock of life-saving medical oxygen in southern parts of Punjab.

          Disclosing this here, senior IAS officer supervising the Oxygen Control Room Rahul Tiwari said that the department has overcome the Oxygen crunch and engaged all their sources to provide much needed relief to COVID patients through uninterrupted medical supplies.  ”MARKFED has been roped in to carry O2 supplies through express trains,” he said adding that earlier first oxygen express was run between Bokaro and Phillaur which has now started on regular basis bringing 40 MT LMO to Punjab. This supply is being distributed in central and northern Punjab.

          Reiterating the commitment to provide best of healthcare facilities to patients, Mr. Tiwari said that the second train will came in Bathinda today evening and the concerned Deputy Commissioner will receive the consignment. This train will now run on regular basis. ”We are working on aggressive planning and ensuring medical supplies from all sources and the government has also been pushing the central government to increase its quota,” he stated.

          Mr. Tiwari said that the Chief Minister has given clear instructions that all health care facilities to be ensured for every patient and health department is trying its best to ensure the same. He also appealed to people, in general, to adhere to all the protocols to break the virus-spreading chain.
