Rana Gurjit welcomes acceptance of his resignation

Chandigarh, January 18, 2018: Former Punjab Power Minister Rana Gurjit Singh on Thursday welcomed the decision regarding acceptance of his resignation from the Cabinet.

Reacting to the party’s high command’s nod for acceptance of resignation, Rana Gurjit Singh said he was a disciplined soldier of the party and accepted the decision with all humility.

Terming the Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh as a fatherly figure for him, he said his services to the party would remain available as its loyal member.

Though he had submitted resignation as the XCabinet minister a few days ago, but the final decision about its acceptance was pending as the CM had said that it would be taken after discussion with the party high copmmand.

The confirmation finally came after Amarinder’s meeting with Congress president Rahul Gandhi in Delhi on Thursday.

The Congress government in Punjab and its party unit were facing heat over alleged involvement of Rana Gurjit in the sand mining row.
