Rotational irrigation programme for Rabi Season from February 18 to 25

The Punjab Water Resources Department has announced the Rotational Programme of irrigation for the Rabi Season through canals from 18th to 25th February, 2021. The channels of Sirhind Canal System would run on the priority basis from Bist Doab Canal, Sidhwan Branch, Bathinda Branch, Abohar Branch and Patiala Feeder respectively.

Disclosing this here today, a spokesperson of the Water Resources department said that the direct distributaries of Bhakra Main Line (BML) in Group ‘A’ being in the first preference will run to their indent and the balance water supplies available will be utilized in Ghaggar Link and its off-taking Channels i.e. Ghaggar Branch and Patiala Minor in group ‘B’.

The spokesperson further said that the distributaries of Harike system in Group ‘A’ being in the first preference will run to their indent and the balance water supplies available will be utilized in the group ‘B’ distributaries.

The spokesperson also said that the channels off-taking from Upper Bari Doab Canal i.e. Lahore Branch with its distributaries being in the first preference will run to indent and the balance water supplies available will be utilized in Main Branch Lower, Kasur Branch Lower with their distributaries and Sabhraon Branch respectively.
