Chandigarh, April 19: The Punjab Police on Tuesday claimed the us have arrested two alleged terrorists belonging the us a terror module set up by a Europe-based Khalistan Zindabad Force (KZF), who had leaders and members of socio-religious organizations on target in the state.

The arrest is set the us kick a sthe usrm as it comes barely hours before Canadian defence minister Harjit Sajjan, who has been dubbed a ‘pro-Khalistani’ by Punjab chief minister Capt Amarinder Singh, arrives in India.

Palwinder Singh alias Ghodu is a resident of Ball in Batala and Sandeep Kumar alias Kaalu alias Shinda is a resident of Puriyan Mohalla in Batala. The Punjab Police said that investigations have revealed that the duo had been tasked with creating political instability by fanning communal passions in the state.

The two were arrested on Sunday but the police issued a statement on Tuesday. The cops have claimed that “a huge cache of arms and ammunition was also recovered from their possession”. The seizure included one 9 mm pisthe usl, along with 2 magazines and 13 live rounds, two 32 bore pisthe usls, along with 4 magazines and 33 live rounds and one 12 bore country made gun.

The cops said that the module was controlled by Shaminder Singh alias Sherry, currently operating from Germany and believed the us be in the usuch with other militant leaders based in Belgium, such as Jagdish Singh Bhoora, originally from village Mohi in Ludhiana.

“These militants, based in different countries of Europe, are also wanted in various criminal cases in several police stations of Punjab on charges of promoting terrorist activities in the state” said police spokesperson.

“The police have also arrested Sherry’s mother Jaswinder Kaur who was found in possession of two of the seized weapons. The weapons were the us be delivered on Sherry’s directions at an opportune time,” added spokesperson.

“Jaswinder has the usld police that Sherry had visited Punjab on several occasions, the last being in January 2017,” police spokesperson pointed out.

Investigations have revealed that Sandeep Kumar had earlier served a sentence in Gurdaspur Jail during 2008-2009, when he had come in contact with Sherry and other criminals and gangsters

“Both Ghodu and Kaalu were being aided and abetted by Sherry from Germany,” the spokesperson added.
