CHANDIGARH, MAY 7: In line with the instructions issued by the Union Ministry of Home Affairs and Punjab Home Department, the Additional Chief Secretary Governance Reforms Vini Mahajan has issued a Standard Operating Procedure thereby directing all Deputy Commissioners to resume the operations of Sewa Kendras w.e.f. May 8 i.e. Friday from 9 am to 5 pm.
Disclosing this here today, Vini Mahajan said that as per the guidelines of MHA, the State Government has ordered to resume the operations of Sewa Kendras, which were not operational due to curfew and lockdown amid COVID-19 pandemic.
The ACS said that Sewa Kendras which were the only Unified Service Delivery Centers of Punjab for availing various G2C and B2C services would be made operational from tomorrow.
She said that a detailed SOP has been issued to all DCs in this regard as well as a detailed advisory issued by the Health & Family Welfare Department, Punjab in consideration to visit of citizens at Sewa Kendras for maintaining the hygiene and sanitation of Sewa Kendras and staff working therein amid COVID-19.
The ACS further pointed out that the operations of Sewa Kendras would be resumed in phased manner and in first phase out of total 516 Sewa Kendras as many as 467 would be opened, with limited manpower to facilitate and provide 153 services out of total 271. She said that arms related marriage registration services would be started in Phase-II.
Vini Mahajan further informed that list of available services could also be seen on https:// dgrpg.punjab.gov.in/. She further added that, Sewa Kendras would work from 9 am to 5 from Monday to Saturday.
During 9 am to 1 pm anyone can visit to avail any of available services, said the ACS adding that however, from 1 pm to 5 pm, people with vaild appointment and curfew pass would be allowed to avail any service.
The appointment can be taken through COVA Punjab mobile app, MSewa, she added.
