Jalandhar, May 30: The Jalandhar district administration has stepped up security outside the office of Director Land Records where EVMs and VVPAT machines have been kept.
The machines were kept in the strongroom in the presence of Election Observer Ravi Kant Jain and Deputy Commissioner Varinder Kumar Sharma.
The strongroom will now be opened at 7.30 am on May 31, the day counting of votes for the Shahkot bypoll will take place.
The strongroom is being guarded by Punjab Police, Punjab Armed Police and BSF personnel.
