Shooters moved quickly after security was pruned: Delhi cops

Date:

Chandigarh, July 9

The pruning of singer Sidhu Moosewala’s security was a major factor in his killing. This is the key finding of the Delhi Police after the purported phone conversation between singer Sidhu Moosewala’s shooters and one of the masterminds Goldy Brar, based in Canada, surfaced today.

The telephonic conversation has revealed that the shooters moved swiftly into action after the singer’s security was trimmed and made public on the afternoon of May 28.

Brar is purportedly heard telling Priyavrat Fauji, the leader of one of the two modules of shooters, that the security cover was gone and that “Fauji, kamm kal hi karna hai (Work must be done tomorrow)”.

In the conversation, Fauji was heard referring Brar as ‘Doctor’. Fauji called up Brar around 4.30 pm on May 29, telling ‘Doctor’ that Moosewala was likely to step out of his house.

After the killing, Fauji made another call to ‘Doctor’, saying “kamm kar ditta (It’s done)”. This was just after the shooters had sprayed dozens of bullets at Moosewala.

The singer was killed in Mansa’s Jawahar Ke village on the evening of May 29. As per the police investigation, Brar was keeping tabs on the ground situation via Sandeep Kekda, who along with Baldev Nikku, was keeping an eye on the singer’s house.
