Shot in the arm for AAP, Fazilka Congress leaders join party

Chandigarh, February 28: Looking at the tremendous response that the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has been receiving, people of repute are joining the party.

The AAP got strength in Punjab on Friday when Sonu Jafar, close associate of Ajnala’s Congress MLA and Congress leaders from Fazilka – Amandeep Goldy Musafir and Angrej Singh Brar, joined the party in the presence of AAP’s senior leader and Leader of Opposition (LoP) in the Punjab Assembly, Harpal Singh Cheema. Welcoming them into the party, Cheema said that due to the pro-people policies of AAP, the party’s fleet was growing with a large number of people joining.

He said that today the people of Punjab were seeing the Aam Aadmi Party as their only ray of hope. Sonu Jafar, a prominent Christian face in Majha, used to be the right hand man and close associate of the sitting MLA of Ajnala Harpratap Singh Ajnala.

He is also the chairman of Christian front and was the joint secretary of Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee (PPCC). Meanwhile, Amandeep Goldy Musafir from Balluana constituency was the district vice president of PPCC.

He is a businessman and a known face of Balluana. He was also former general secretary Lok Sabha Ferozepur Youth Congress. Amandeep Goldy was also a former vice-president district Congress committee Fazilka. Another leader Angrej Singh Brar who joined the AAP, was also the former vice-president district Congress committee Fazilka.

On the occasion, Cheema said that more and more people were willing to join the party because they see AAP as the only credible alternative that can change politics in the state and make the lives of the people better.

“With the joining of such personalities, the strength of the AAP is set to increase manifold for the upcoming assembly elections,” he added. The leaders who joined the party said that they were impressed by the work being done by the Aam Aadmi Party for the people and decided to join the party.

The leaders said that whatever responsibility the party entrusts to them, they would work to strengthen the party with full vigor and devotion.
