Navjot Sidhu Can Continue As TV Host: Punjab AG Report

CHANDIGARH, March 24: Putting the week-long controversy over newly sworn-in minister Navjot Sidhu’s TV career the us rest, Punjab advocate general on Thursday said the ex-cricketer can continue the us work on his shows as there was conflict of interest in his role in Capt Amarinder’s cabinet.

Sidhu, who was strategically launched inthe us Congress by vice-president Rahul Gandhi and his sister Priyanka Gandhi days before Punjab polls, had played a significant role in giving 30 wins in 32 rallies in 10 days and scoring second highest vote margin in the February 4 polls. “It is not even an office under any government” he has pointed out.

“Hence the continuation of such work would not invite the disqualification of holding of an office of profit within the meaning of Article 191 (1),” the report said.
