Sidhu should behave like responsible and disciplined leader: Sham Sunder Arora

CHANDIGARH/ HOSHIARPUR: Punjab Industries and Commerce Minister Sunder Sham Arora on Thursday said that the repeated statements of MLA Navjot Singh Sidhu against Party Leadership is showing indiscipline and irresponsible behaviour.

The Minister reminded Sidhu that Congress Party had registered massive victory under the leadership of Captain Amarinder Singh, who was elected as Chief Minister of Punjab by the Party High Command. Sunder Sham Arora stated that the Congress Party became more strengthen in Punjab under the visionary and able leadership of Captain Amarinder Singh. Questioning the Chief Minister’s leadership time and again by Navjot Sidhu is equal to challenge Party’s leadership.

The Minister pointed out that if Sidhu had any issue he could raise the same within the party platform but not through social media and statements against the Chief Minister, which was weakening the Party. He advised Sidhu to honour the party’s policies as a disciplined leader of Congress. The Minister said that the portfolio of Sidhu had been changed by the Chief Minister due to resentment in urban populace against his performance and Sidhu opposed the party’s decision and didn’t join the another portfolio. Sidhu not only obey the party’s decision but also gave repeated statements against the Party Leaders and the Chief Minister, he added.

Industries Minister Sunder Sham Arora mentioned that the Congress Party had extended due respect and honour to Navjot Sidhu. The Chief Minister gave him a significant Cabinet portfolio in his Cabinet despite that he could not fulfil the aspirations of the people, said Arora adding the Congress Party always worked in interest of country besides having a priority to people’s aspirations. He said that apart from these the Party’s policies and discipline is also of same importance, which could never be compromised.
