Sonam Kapoor’s upcoming film Veere Di Wedding’s first single Tareefan topped the music charts when it first dropped on the internet. The song which accentuated a gender-reversal role forgoing stereotypes was much praised by critics and became a sensational EDM (Electronic dance music) for party-goers. The film highlights four best friends (veeres) who are stuck in different shades of life and turn to the importance of friendship. We loved Badshah’s bold rap to the song and the peppy melody. But what strikes us the most now, is Sonam Kapoor’s latest social media post about the song.
Crooning in super melodious voice is internet sensation Lisa Mishra who sang a mash-up of Justin Beiber’s Let Me Love You and Tareefan on an acoustic guitar, and Sonam seems unable to get over this version of the song. Taking to her Instagram account, the Aisha actress shared a video of Lisa singing this groovy track, indirectly telling us to lend our ears to this youthful remix.
Lisa gives a new twist to the song with modern tones in her voice that remove the Punjabi accent. Transposing from Justin Beiber’s superhit EDM to this upbeat Punjabi number, Lisa slid smoothly with much ease in this fusion and for sure has garnered much ‘tareefan‘ for her rendition.
Besides this, Anil Kapoor commented on this video saying, “Who’s this singer? This song from Veere is just fantastic.” Hovered around a female-centric theme, the film is set to hit theatres on June 1, which is definitely an aftermath of Sonam’s big fat wedding that happened earlier this month.
