Actress Taapsee Pannu shares screen space with Punjabi superstar Diljit Dosanjh in her upcoming sports film, Soorma. Directed by Shaad Ali, Soorma is based on the life of hockey legend and former Indian hockey team captain Sandeep Singh. At a recent media interaction, Taapsee revealed a special name that Diljit teases her with because of her talkative nature.
Diljit Dosanjh and Taapsee Pannu will be seen sweating it out on the hockey field in their upcoming film, Soorma. Directed by filmmaker Shaad Ali (Saathiya, Bunty Aur Babli, Ok Jaanu), Soormais a sports biopic on the life of former Indian hockey team captain Sandeep Singh. At a recent media interaction, Taapsee revealed a special name that Diljit teases her with because of her talkative nature.
“He calls me Gaala Di Raani (Queen of Talking),” Taapsee announced, shutting down a coy protest from Diljit.
When asked about her faith in destiny and ‘magic’, Taapsee answered, “Magic has been happening to me forever. Where I am sitting right now, it’s magic for me. I’d never thought this would ever happen. I have 100% faith in miracles, magic and destiny.”
“I don’t really believe in magic much. Nothing magical really has happened as such,” said Diljit.
For Soorma, Diljit and Taapsee were personally trained in hockey by Sandeep Singh. Speaking about working in a sports film, Taapsee, who loves playing squash five times a week, said, “For me, the biggest thrill was getting the chance do a sports film, because I love sports. Especially a sport (like hockey) which I never thought I’ll get to play.”
Diljit added, “Hockey, my dad used to play. My connection with the sport grew only when I started doing this film. My dad had bought me a hockey but I was more interested in music so I didn’t go to play for a single day.”

Diljit Dosanjh has previously starred in Bollywood movies like Udta Punjab and Welcome To New York. Taapsee Pannu will also be seen in Anurag Kashyap’s upcoming film, Manmarziyaan.
