Muktsar, February 20: Shiromani Akali Dal leader chief Sukhbir Singh Badal, who is seeking reelection from Jalalabad, said the SAD-BSP alliance will make a clean sweep in the state and claimed the alliance will win over 80 seats in the polls, voting for which is underway.
“We have been standing firm at one place for the last three generations. While many others like Captain Amarinder Singh have moved to other parties on not getting election tickets,” said Shiromani Akali Dal patron and five times Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal.
Taking a dig at Aam Aadmi Party, Badal said the party did not have any relation or connect with Punjab and its people. AAP does not have any sympathy with the state. They do not know how many districts are there in the state.”
Slamming Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi’s “UP-Bihar” remark, Badal asked if other states pushed Punjabis out, would he be able to support them.
Akali President Sukhbir Singh Badal along with Harsimrat Kaur Badal and Parkash Singh Badal cast their votes at Badal village in Lambi constituency in Muktsar.
Akali leader and Sukhbir Badal’s wife Harsimrat Kaur Badal said, “People are looking for a stable and strong government. As a border state, it has many challenges. I’m sure the mandate is going to be for Akali Dal as it is the only tried & tested local, regional party that understands the aspirations of people of Punjab.”
