Chandigarh, September 21:  Three years have passed, but kin of slain advocate Sukhmanpreet Singh Sidhu, aka Sippy Sidhu, are still waiting for justice.

Sippy was shot dead at a Sector 27 park on September 20, 2015. In the murder case, the daughter of a Judge is one of the suspects. The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), which has been investigating the case for the past two and a half years, is yet to make any breakthrough.

A .12 bore gun was used in the crime and four bullets were fired from it. The body was found a few hours after the crime. The UT police had registered a murder case at the Sector 26 police station.

Despite various leads in the case, UT cops failed to make any headway in the case. The police also formed a SIT to solve the case. Several suspects, including the daughter of a Judge, were questioned by the police. However, all efforts proved futile.

The police had to face criticism for going soft on the prime suspect in the case. On the demand of Sippy’s kin, the case was transferred to the CBI in 2016.

In September 2016, CBI sleuths, who also failed to make any headway in the case, announced a reward of Rs 5 lakh to anyone providing a clue that could help crack the case. The younger brother of Sippy said they were waiting for justice. “We hope that the CBI will be able to crack the case soon,” he said.
