Vigilance nabs Junior Engineer of PSPCL for taking bribe of Rs. 5,000

Chandigarh, February 1: Punjab Vigilance Bureau today nabbed a Junior Engineer red handed while accepting a bribe of Rs. 5,000.

Disclosing this here today, an official spokesperson of the State Vigilance Bureau said Manmohan Singh, Junior Engineer posted at Sub-division PSPCL Maur, Bathinda district was nabbed red handed by Vigilance team for accepting bribe of Rs. 5,000 from the complainant Daljit Singh of village Jodpur Pakar in Bathinda district. The complainant has approached the VB and alleged that the above said Junior Engineer was demanding Rs. 10,000 for installing a new transformer at his tubewell.

After verifying his information, a VB team laid a trap and the accused Junior Engineer was arrested on the spot while accepting a bribe of Rs. 5,000 from the complainant in the presence of two official witnesses.

He informed that a case under Prevention of Corruption Act has been registered against the accused at VB police station Bathinda and further investigation was under progress.
