Vigilance nabs Patwari, Numbardar and a private person for taking bribe Rs.10,000

Chandigarh, April 26 : Punjab Vigilance Bureau today nabbed three persons including a revenue Patwari, his private assistant and a Numberdar red handed while accepting bribe of Rs.10,000.

Disclosing this here an official spokesperson of the state Vigilance Bureau said Didar Singh, Patwari, posted at revenue halqua village Narike, his private assistant Harwinder Singh alias Barnala and Talwinder Singh Nambardar village Salar, in Malerkotla district were nabbed red handed by Vigilance team for accepting bribe of Rs. 10,000 from complainant Amarjeet Singh of village Salar, tehsil Amargarh.

The complainant has approached the VB and alleged that the above said Patwari was demanding Rs. 15,000 for mutation of his land through his middlemen Numbedar and private assistant but the deal was struck at Rs. 10,000. After verifying his information, a team from VB unit Sangrur laid a trap and all the accused were arrested while accepting bribe of Rs. 10,000 from the complainant in the presence of two official witnesses.

He informed that a case under Prevention of Corruption Act has been registered against the accused at VB police station Patiala and further investigation was under progress.
