Chandigarh, April 15: Government agencies have procured 3119 metric tonnes of wheat in Punjab on day one of procurement.
Disclosing this today, Food and Civil Supplies Minister Mr. Bharat Bhushan Ashu said that at 1867 Procurement centers and 1824 Mandi Yards the Government agencies procured 3119 MT wheat.
He further said that PUNGRAIN has procured 860 metric tonnes, MARKFED 763 tonnes and PUNSUP procured 301 tonnes while Punjab State Warehousing Corporation procured 501 MT wheat .
The Centre government agency FCI has procured 56 MT wheat. Apart from this, Pungrain procured 574 MT wheat for public distribution in the Punjab. Mr Ashu said that the payment will be made after 48 hours of the purchase.
