Chandigarh, April 21: Government agencies and private traders have procured 436406 metric tonnes of wheat in Punjab on seventh day of procurement.
Disclosing this, an official spokesperson said that out of the total 436406 MT procurement from various procurement centres in the State, the Government agencies procured 434609 MT of wheat 1797 MT has been procured by the private traders (arhtiyas).
He further said that PUNGRAIN has procured 91844 metric tonnes, MARKFED 106103 metric tonnes and PUNSUP procured 96014 metric tonnes while Punjab State Warehousing Corporation 60447 MT wheat respectively.
The Centre government agency FCI has procured 45344 MT wheat. Apart from this Pungrain procured 1797 MT wheat for public distribution in Punjab.
Progressive procurement by all the procuring agency is 1565196MT.
