Chandigarh, May 8: The Government agencies and private Traders have procured 3,18,796 metric tonnes of wheat in Punjab on 24th day of procurement.
Disclosing this here today, an official Spokesperson said that out of the total 3,18,796 procurement from various procurement centres in the State, the Government agencies procured 3,17,531 MT of wheat 1265 MT has been procured by the private traders (arhtyias).
He further said that PUNGRAIN has procured 76165 metric tonnes, MARKFED 76582 metric tonnes and PUNSUP procured 67074 metric tonnes while Punjab State Warehousing Corporation 41407 MT wheat respectively. The Centre government agancy FCI has procured 34866 MT wheat. Apart from this Pungrain Procured 21437 MT wheat for public distribution in the Punjab.
Progressive procurement by all the procuring agency is 1,11,15,778 MT.
