Date:

Muktsar, March 7: Exactly a year after they lost power, the Badals will hold a medical check-up camp at their native village, Badal, in the district on March 10-11.

About 40 doctors from across the state and New Delhi are expected to examine an estimated 4,000 people. The district administration and the health authorities are extending support to the event.

Former Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal recently visited the Civil Hospital in the village to take stock of the preparations.

Dr Sukhpal Singh, Civil Surgeon, Muktsar, said, “The former CM is bearing the expenses of the camp. We have provided the premises of the Civil Hospital for this noble cause.

”Ranjodh Singh Lambi, senior vice-president, Youth Akali Dal (YAD), Malwa zone-1, who handles SAD’s social media activities in Lambi, said, “Badal sahib is organising the two-day camp in association with the district administration and a private hospital.

Leading doctors will examine patients free of cost. The SAD has also made arrangements to provide free meals to the visitors.”Asked whether the camp was dedicated to any member of the Badal family or to mark an occasion, he said, “It’s being organised only to serve people.”
