Addressing the press conference held at the party headquarters in Chandigarh on Tuesday, AAP Punjab’s chief spokesperson Malwinder Singh Kang credited the party’s victory in the Jalandhar by-election to the people. He thanked people for accepting the Aam Aadmi Party’s politics of work and informed about the cabinet meeting to be held tomorrow at Jalandhar under ‘Sarkar Aapke Dwar’.
Thanking the people for electing the AAP candidate by a huge margin in the Lok Sabha by-election, Kang said that this election has proved that the people have now completely rejected the religion, caste based politics practiced by the traditional parties and they have approved the AAP’s politics of work.
Malwinder Kang said that we asked for votes based on the work done by the Mann government in one year. We told them about 29,000 plus jobs given to youths in just one year, we told how the Mann government is making Punjab corruption free, one MLA – one pension, more than ten thousand acres of government land freed from land mafias and influential people, mohalla clinics, Schools of Eminence and 600 units of free electricity and requested people to vote on the basis of their issues and works.
Attacking the opponents, he said that Akali, BJP, Congress all did propaganda against us during their campaign in Jalandhar by-election, but they all failed to read people. During the election campaign, Akali leader Majithia targeted AAP MLA Balkar Singh from Kartarpur. Meanwhile, Kang also lambasted the big claims of victory made by senior Congress leader Pratap Bajwa before the election.
Kang said that Akali Dal calls itself the party of Sikhs, BJP calls itself the party of Hindus and BSP the party of Dalits. Amid their divisive politics, only the Aam Aadmi Party is the party of every class, community, religion, caste and the common people of our country, who wants the development of all. That is why the people of Punjab and Delhi gave us a huge majority. 2019 Lok Sabha elections’ twenty-five thousand votes in Jalandhar increased to more than three lac votes this time.
Malwinder Kang credited this victory to AAP’s National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal and Bhagwant Mann and said that both leaders of the party themselves inspired the workers by going among the people. This is the reason why the people of Jalandhar chose the all-inclusive AAP Party to represent them in the Parliament.
Giving information about CM Bhagwant Mann led Cabinet meeting to be held in Jalandhar tomorrow under ‘Sarkar Aapke Dwar’, Kang said that representatives of all constituencies of Jalandhar Lok Sabha, officers and ministers of various departments will participate in this meeting. The ongoing and new development projects of Jalandhar will be the main agenda of this meeting. In the end, Kang said that the Mann government is working very seriously for the all-round development of Jalandhar and our goal is that in the Lok Sabha elections of 2024, we will present Jalandhar as a model constituency to the whole country.
