Chandigarh, May 16:
Punjab Water Resources Minister Gurmeet Singh Meet Hayer on Tuesday handed over appointment letters to newly selected 68 clerks in Water Resources Department at Punjab Bhawan, Chandigarh. Out of these clerks, 42 belong to Water Resources department and 26 to Punjab Water Resources Management and Development Corporation (PWRMDC).
Congratulating the newly appointed employees, the Water Resources Minister said that they should now work with due diligence to strengthen the belief of common people in the administrative machinery of the government. He said that the Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann led State Government has given appointment letters to more than 29,000 youths in a span of just one year. Punjab Government is giving employment to the youth on priority basis. Even in the coming time, the government will create employment opportunities for the youth by establishing new projects by creating an investment-friendly environment in the state, said the Minister.
The Minister asked the youth who got the appointment letters to perform their services in the public interest with dedication and honesty. He said that the water resources department is directly connected with the farmer, that’s why the newly appointed employees can contribute to the welfare of farmers by rendering their best services.
PWRMDC Chairman Ranjit Singh Cheema thanked the Chief Minister and Water Resources Minister for this speedy recruitment to strengthen the department.
Prominent among others who were present at the occasion included Principal Secretary Water Resources Krishan Kumar, PWRMDC Managing Director Pawan Kapur and other officials.
