Ahead of Soorma’s release, hockey legend Sandeep Singh to be immortalised at Jaipur Wax Museum

Ahead of the release of his biopic, Soorma – that has Diljit Dosanjh playing the protagonist -national hockey player Sandeep Singh has become the first Indian hockey player to get a wax statue. Jaipur Wax Museum at Nahargarh Fort will soon have a wax statue of the hockey player.

The wax museum chooses icons on the basis of suggestions and requests posted by visitors, and Sandeep, we hear, tops the list.

Interestingly, Dhyan Chand, who is considered the greatest player in the history of Indian hockey, will get his wax statue installed post Sandeep’s.

Sandeep took to the social media and posted a picture announcing the news. In Soorma, slated for a July 13 release, Punjabi superstar Diljit Dosanjh will be seen playing the hockey legend. Talking about the film, Diljit said in a statement, “I feel proud to be part of Soorma. Sandeep has never failed to make India proud, be it on the field or off it. He keeps setting the benchmark higher.”

Soorma, produced by Sony Pictures Networks India, Chitrangda Singh, and Deepak Singh, also stars Taapsee Pannu and Angad Bedi in important roles. The film is directed by Shaad Ali, who is known for helming films Kill DilOk JaanuJhoom Barabar JhoomBunty Aur Babli and Saathiya.
