Chandigarh/ S.A.S. Nagar, December 23: Punjab Government has recruited 250 Veterinary Inspectors in the Animal Husbandry Department of the state under the door-to-door employment program.
Minister for Animal Husbandry, Dairy Development and Fisheries Tripat Rajinder Singh Bajwa handed over appointment letters to the newly appointed Veterinary Inspectors at Livestock Bhawan here today.
Congratulating the newly appointed Veterinary Inspectors, Mr. Bajwa said that Punjab government is committed to provide employment to maximum number of youth in the state. He said that with the recruitment of new Veterinary Inspectors the work of Animal Husbandry Department would be further accelerated and better services would be provided to the animal keepers.
The Minister said that the Animal Husbandry Department is providing elite breed and foreign semen / embryos which would significantly increase the milk productivity. On this occasion he said that Punjab government is committed to double the income of the farmers and appealed to the livestock owners / farmers that apart from agricultural we must engage in allied occupations also like dairy farming, goat rearing and pig rearing which would definately Increase our income.
On this occasion Special Chief Secretary of the department Mrs. Ravneet Kaur IAS said that the Animal Husbandry Department is taking several new initiatives for the improvement of the livestock so that the animal husbandry and dairy profession could be further developed in the state. On this occasion Secretary of the department Mr. Malwinder Singh Jaggi, Director Animal Husbandry Dr. H.S. Kahlon and other officers of the Animal Husbandry Department were also present.
