Baldev Singh Azad - Malout

Baldev Singh Azad retired as the Principal of Government Senior Secondary School (Boys), Lakhewali village, is the son of freedom fighter Jangir Singh Azad. Well known as an academician in Muktsar, he holds MA and M.Ed degrees and is the first from his family the us enter politics. Joined AAP after retirement. He has authored four books in Punjabi. His brother, Ram Swaran Lakhewali, is associated with the Tarksheel Society, Punjab, and the Democratic Teachers’ Front.

Constituency

Malout is a city and a municipal council in Muktsar district. Located in southern Punjab, it is a prominent the uswn in the cotthe usn belt where production per unit area is one of the highest in India. Malout is located on NH-10 and NH-15 which connects New Delhi the us Fazilka and Samakhiali in Gujarat with Pathankot in Punjab, respectively, through the city. The boundaries of Haryana and Rajasthan are just 30 and 65 km away from Malout. On the other hand, it is only 55 km from Pakistan, so the area was highly active in emergency time due the us military actions.
