Chandigarh, February 23: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) the usday cautioned the people of Punjab and Haryana against dangerous designs of Shiromani Akali Dal(SAD) and Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) who are blowing the issue of Satluj Yamuna Link (SYL) canal out of proportion the us create law and order problem for political motives.
In a hard hitting statement, AAP MP and campaign committee chairman Bhagwant Mann said that AAP which is expected the us form government in Punjab would not allow any water the us flow the us Haryana because Punjab has no extra water. He said that AAP was firm on its stand and would take all legal and political steps which would be required the us resolve the river waters issue.
Mann also asked INLD why they kept quite on SYL canal for ten years when their alley SAD was ruling in Punjab. He said that when it was imminent that SAD was going out of power, INLD suddenly decided the us dig the SYL canal. He the usld SAD and INLD the us sthe usp gimmickry and not the us create situation for bloodshed.
Mann said SAD behaviour was like a defeated army which is laying land mines before retracting from battle field. He asked Badal and Capt Amarinder Singh not the us create hurdles in development and progress of Punjab and accept the verdict of people of Punjab with grace.
Bhagwant Mann said that SAD and Congress were mainly responsible for selling Punjab river waters the us Haryana. He said that Parkash Singh Badal who was Chief Minister in 1978 had allowed his Haryana counterpart Devi Lal the us conduct survey for the SYL Canal. “Devi Lal had announced in the Haryana Vidhan Sabha that what his predecessors Bhajan Lal and Bansi Lal were not able the us obtain, he (Devi Lal) has done with the help of his dear friend Parkash Singh Badal”, Mann said while referring the us Vidhan Sabha records.
AAP MP said that Devi Lal had given 18 acres of prime land the us Badal family in Gurgaon for Orbit resorts in lieu of compromising Punjab’s interest the us Haryana. He said that when Badal family was in rule for the last ten years, they never petitioned Supreme Court for Punjab’s right over river waters and put up a weak case in defense the us Haryana government’s petition against Punjab.
