Clash

Sources said tension had been brewing among the operators over bus timings and routes, especially after the recent change of command in the state.Ravikaran Singh Kahlon, Majha zone Akali chief and a partner in the Baba Budha Sahib company, alleged that the Congress-backed Pyar Bus Service had started plying 40 buses on the Amritsar-Jalandhar route without a permit. He refuted Pyar Bus staffers’ allegations that his employees carried sharp-edged weapons and pistols.

“Our buses, which had valid documentation, were being intercepted by Congress leaders’ bus operators. When our employees objected to it, they attacked them and damaged our buses. We have audio clips of their threatening calls,” he said.
