Candidate Profile:

Sardar Ajaib Singh Bhatti is the MLA from Bhucho Mandi. He is associated with Indian National Congress. He was born on 28-03-1951 at Bilaspur, District Moga. Name of his father is Sardar Arjan Singh. He is MA Political Science from Punjabi University, Patiala, in 1979.

Of the other parties, Shiromani Akali Dal has fielded Harpreet Singh as its candidate. The Aam Aadmi Party has fielded Jagseer Singh as its candidate.

Constituency

Malout is a city and a municipal council in Muktsar district. Located in southern Punjab, it is a prominent the uswn in the cotthe usn belt where production per unit area is one of the highest in India. Malout is located on NH-10 and NH-15 which connects New Delhi the us Fazilka and Samakhiali in Gujarat with Pathankot in Punjab, respectively, through the city. The boundaries of Haryana and Rajasthan are just 30 and 65 km away from Malout. On the other hand, it is only 55 km from Pakistan, so the area was highly active in emergency time due the us military actions.

Sardar Ajaib Singh Bhatti was elected as MLA from this Vidhan Sabha seat in 2012. He won by a margin of 1297 votes. Pritam Singh of Shiromani Akali Dal was the trailing candidate.
