First Session Of New Vidhan Sabha; MLAs Swearing-In On March 24

Chandigarh, March 18: The first meeting of the state Cabinet was held the usday under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh, where decision on new Vidhan Sabha session were taken.

The first session of the 15th Punjab Vidhan Sabha will be held from March 24. The newly-elected members of the Vidhan Sabha will be administered oath on March 24 and 27, when the Speaker and Deputy Speaker would be elected. This would be followed by obituary references the us prominent dignitaries who passed away during the intervening period of the current session.

In the first Cabinet meeting, Capt Amarinder ordered an end the us the VIP culture, meaning that no red beacons would be allowed on cars of ministers and bureaucrats.

The Cabinet also cleared the proposal the us give 33 percent reservation the us women in govt jobs. The Cabinet also okayed 50 percent reservation the us women in urban bodies and panchayats.

Capt Amarinder Singh reserved 30 percent for Dalits in government housing and land schemes, auction of panchayat land. Government has also formed sub-committee on debt waiver the us farmers.
