KJ Singh murder case: Dead end in probe, focus again on role of insider

Date:

Chandigarh, October 26: The investigation into the double murder case of senior journalist KJ Singh and his bed ridden mother Gurcharan Kaur has hit a dead end.

It has been learnt from the police sources that nothing much has come out from the sustained questioning of the five suspects, pictures of whom were released by the police after going through dump of the CCTV footages in Phase 3B2.

Police sources said on Wednesday police had summoned 24-year-old Vicky who hails from Raikot and is into business of real estate for questioning in connection with the murder case, but again nothing came out of it.

Police officials stated that the five boys had sent videos and photos taken outside KJ house to him. However, during questioning he told police that he was helping the young boys find the paying guest accommodation due to his connections in the area and had nothing to do with the case.

The officials said that they would have to focus investigation on new angles and renew focus of investigation on role of insiders. The five suspects were picked up on Monday and quizzed over next three days.

They had told police were taking coaching classes and some were studying in local colleges. Police have also not found any criminal record against them.

The outcome of investigation comes as a big shocker to police as they were banking heavily on the Close-Circuit Television Camera (CCTV) footage and was hoping for a vital clue for cracking the case.
