New Delhi/Chandigarh, July 29

Slamming the Narendra Modi-led centre government for its stubborn stance on the issue related to the farmers, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Punjab president and Member of Parliament, Bhagwant Mann said that the Modi government has become merciless and has turned a blind eye in the matter. In a statement issued on Thursday, Bhagwant Mann said the Modi government was running away from discussion on the black farm laws in Parliament as they were scared that the bitter truth would be exposed in the House.

“The Modi government is running away from such an important issue, because if they would discuss it, then the people will get to know the reality of what is there in the farm laws and the anti-farmer and anti-country side of the government will be exposed,” said Mann.

The AAP MP on Thursday moved an adjournment motion for the eighth consecutive time in Parliament, seeking discussion on the repeal of three farm laws. Strongly condemning the centre government’s approach on the adjournment motions moved so far, Bhagwant Mann said, “The adjournment motion is moved under a serious view point of taking up the issue of farm laws on priority, but the government is not paying any heed,” he said.

Mann said despite hue and cry in Parliament on the issue of farm laws, the dictatorial Modi government was eager on passing the other bills. “Instead of repealing the three anti-farmer black laws, the government is eager on imposing a fourth bill – the Electricity Amendment Bill,” he added. Bhagwant Mann said that this bill will rob the states of their rights as under this, the centre government after taking electricity from the states; will later make them beggars, as they had done in the case of GST.
