Why mum on Badal buses: AAP to CM

Date:

Chandigarh, March 6: Expressing shock at the expansion of the Badals’ transport business despite their being out of power, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) today sought an explanation by Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh, who had promised a level-playing field for all transporters.

AAP leaders, including state convener Bhagwant Mann, Leader of Opposition Sukhpal Khaira, Deputy convener Aman Arora and Sarbjit Kaur Manuke, in a joint statement, reminded the Congress government of its pre-poll promise on checking the transport mafia.

The AAP leaders said the silence of the Chief Minister and other ministers was a clear indication that they were “partners in crime” so far as monopolising of the transport business in Punjab was concerned.

The leaders have prayed to the Punjab and Haryana High Court to take a suo motu action on the reported expansion of Badals’ transport business in Punjab and neighbouring states and order a CBI inquiry into it.
