The refusal of former Punjab DGP Sumedh Saini and former SSP Charanjit Sharma to undergo Narco test in the Kotkapura firing case proves that the then Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) Badal-BJP government were responsible for the incidents related to desecration of Sri Guru Granth Sahib. Disclosing this here on Wednesday, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLA and Kisan Wing state president Kultar Singh Sandhwan and senior leader Manwinder Singh Giaspura said that to know the truth about Kotkapura firing and Behbal Kalan sacrilege case; it was imperative to conduct Narco test of former DGP Sumedh Saini and former SSP Charanjit Singh Sharma along with the then Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal and Home Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal.
In a statement issued from the party headquarters here on Wednesday, Kultar Singh Sandhwan and Manwinder Singh Giaspura said that to find out the truth about the Kotkapura firing case, the newly constituted special investigation team (SIT) had applied at the district court for a Narco analysis test of the then police officers DGP Sumedh Saini, suspended IG Parmaraj Singh Umranangal and SSP Charanjit Sharma; as the former police officers were not cooperating with the investigation team. The leaders said that although suspended IG Parmaraj Singh Umranangal had agreed to undergo Narco test through court proceedings, former DGP Sumedh Saini and SSP Charanjit Sharma flatly refused to undergo the test. Sandhwan said that the refusal of police officers to undergo Narco tests was a vicious attempt to cover up the sins committed by the Badal government.
Sandhwan further said that the first SIT into the firing case had convicted these former police officers, but the Captain Amarinder Singh-led Congress government was not taking any concrete steps to expose the sins of the Badals. “Along with these police officers, a Narco test of the Badals should also be conducted, so that the truth about the desecration of Sri Guru Granth Sahib, Kotkapura firing and other incidents could be exposed,” he added. Sandhwan said that if the government does not conduct Narco test of the Badals, then Captain Amarinder Singh should also undergo Narco test; so that it could be cleared how the Chief Minister was defending the Badals.
Manwinder Singh Giaspura said that the Captain Amarinder Singh-led Congress government had come to power by taking oath of Sri Gutka Sahib, that after the formation of the government the culprits of desecration and firing case would be sent to jail; but the Captain government had not taken any action in four and a half years, nor had punished any conspirators. Accusing Captain Amarinder Singh and the Badal family of collusion, Manwinder Singh Giaspura said that the then Chief Minister and Home Minister were directly responsible for the police firing on the Sikh Sangat seeking justice. The AAP leaders said that with the formation of the Aam Aadmi Party government in Punjab, the culprits, conspirators and defenders of the culprits would be put behind bars.
