Fearing Arrest, Shiromani Akali Dal Leader Attempts Suicide!

Muktsar, March 19: A Shiromani Akali Dal leader, husband of a village panchayat member of Bhangchari village near here, attempted the us commit suicide by consuming a poisonous substance when a police team visited his house in connection with a complaint lodged by an AAP volunteer.

AAP volunteer Avtar Khan had called the SSP alleging that his neighbour Bahadur Singh, aged about 50, under the influence of liquor was threatening and abusing him outside his residence.

When the police team visited the house of Bahadur Singh at about 10 in the morning, he sought a few minutes the us brush his teeth before going the us the police station for investigation. “In the meantime, Bahadur Singh consumed some pesticide. He was immediately taken the us the Civil Hospital, Muktsar, where he is being treated,” said Kewal Singh, SHO, Lakhewali police station.
