The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has condemned the dictatorial attitude of the BJP government and said that they are sacred of the Aam Aadmi Party and Kejriwal’s rising popularity. AAP leaders and workers are protesting today against the CBI enquiry of their national convenor Arvind Kejriwal. Leaders from Punjab were stopped at Singhu and Tikri borders and were arrested. AAP Punjab condemned this move of BJP government and termed it the murder of democracy.
The AAP leaders, finance minister Harpal Singh Cheema, Mohinder Bhagat, AAP Punjab general secretary Harchand Singh Barsat, former MLA Jagbir Singh Brar, secretary Rajwinder Kaur Thiara, Jagroop Sekhwan and Jalandhar district president Amritpal Singh addred a press conference here in Jalandhar about the same.
Addressing the media, AAP senior leader Harpal Singh Cheema said that BJP and Congress are older parties but AAP gained the title of national party in just 10 years. We are also gaining the support of people everywhere we are fighting the elections. Cheema said that in just 10 years AAP has government in two states, got 13% and 6% vote share in Gujarat and Goa respectively. BJP is scared of the Aam Aadmi Party and Arvind Kejriwal.
Cheema said that common people are with the AAP, they like pro-people policies of the party. Traditional parties deprived the common people of quality education and quality treatment for 70 years. But first Arvind Kejriwal in Delhi made these things possible and in the reach of common and poor people and now the Mann government of Punjab is doing same for the people of state. But the BJP government is misusing the central agencies against the opposition leaders. Today leaders, who made education and health revolution a reality, Manish Sisodia and Satyendra Jain are in jail in false cases. But the capitalist friends of Modi Ambani-Adani are looting our nation.
Cheema said that Arvind Kejriwal is the most honest leader and BJP won’t ve able to intimidate him. He went to the CBI office today without any excuse and will co-operate with the agency in investigation.
Cheema said that the leaders and workers of the Aam Aadmi Party launched a protest against the dictatorship of the Modi government but they were stopped at Singhu and Tikri borders where the farmers were stopped during their agitation against three farm laws. Cheema said that the BJP is the murderer of democracy. Protest is the right of everyone but BJP, ahead of general elections of 2024, wants to finish opposition and strong opposition leaders.
Cheema added that we’ve implemented the same liquor policy in Punjab and the revenue from it has increased 41%, if it wasn’t a good policy then how come the revenue increased so much. He said that the BJP doesn’t want to mafia rule and liquor mafia to end in our country. This whole incident and their politics of vendetta had only shown their anti-democracy face.
Cheema said that the people of Punjab will give the BJP a befitting reply in the upcoming Jalandhar by-election. He urged people to only vote for those who are working for the common people and have agenda of development.
